OEDIPUS REX at University of Rochester. Jo Cattel is devising a pretty epic immersive production of Oedipus that will take over the old Todd Union. I am designing the lighting and set. There’s a giant head and a bunch of plastic and a golf course and a bunch of chandeliers and whole lot of ribbon and a bunch of broken radios… gonna be nuts. Info here.

SILENT LIGHT at Eastman School of Music. Pat Diamond is directing Paola Presstini’s deeply moving piece about an affair in a Mexican Mennonite community based on a film by the same name. Info here.

THE LIGHT AND THE DARK at Primary Stages. I was very lucky to light this wonderful new play by Kate Hamill at Chautauqua this summer and am thrilled I’ve been invited to light it this fall Off-Broadway at 59E59. A really powerful play about the life and times of Artemisia Gentileschi, directed by Jade King Carol. Come check it out, here.

MERCHANT OF VENICE at CSC. On the same set as OUR CLASS Igor Golyak will be staging a new production of MERCHANT.. I’m very excited for this one it’s gonna be wild. Info here.

TOTALLY THRILLED to say that I have a few projects coming up: a couple of Rochester Fringe pieces I’ll write more about soon and VIETGONE at Geva! We were supposed to have made this piece back in March of 2020 so I am so glad to open this folder back up and pick up where we left off. I love this play and designed the lighting for the rolling world premier production back in 2016. This new production will be directed by my friend Pirronne Yousefzadeh, fight direction by Rocio Mendez and features designs by Mikiko Suzuki MacAdams, Nicole Wee, Kate Freer, and me. EL CIMARRON in Ciudad Mexico at Festival Impulso

Here in Mexico City making a truly beautiful production of Henze’s EL CIMARRON. The piece is totally inspiring and the music is beautiful and wonderfully unruly. Directed by Robert Castro, set and costumes by Victoria Petrovich. The band features Eliam Ramos singing the role of Esteban Montejo, Pablo Gomez on guitar, Jane Rigler has all the flutes, and Carlotta Cáceres with possibly the biggest percussion section ever. The show only has a short life here in Mexico City but I am praying we can bring it home or give it another life some place. BUT if you’re in CDMX come check it out here is the info.
